Our Story
A Citadel Built for the Classics
“We didn't just collect old machines — we rebuilt them, board by board, so a 40-year-old cabinet plays exactly like it did on launch day.”
Classic Quest Citadel opened in a former textile warehouse on Gertrude Street in 2016. What began as one founder's private collection of eight cabinets has grown into Melbourne's largest playable archive of arcade and console history.
Every machine on our floor is genuine hardware, restored in-house by our technicians — CRT monitors recapped, joysticks re-gated, and boards diagnosed by hand. Grab a filter coffee or a local pale ale, settle into a bean bag, and lose an afternoon to the games that started it all.

Free-Play Arcade Floor
One wristband, every cabinet — no coins, no queues. Fighters, shmups, pinball and rare Japanese imports all set to free-play. Day passes from AU$28, or grab the twilight pass (after 6pm) for AU$19.
